What We Believe

What We Believe
-
We believe in God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
-
We believe the Bible represents the Word of God.
-
We believe that God so loved humankind that He allowed His Son, Jesus Christ, to give up His life in atonement for our sins.
-
We believe that a man or woman must be called by God to preach the Word of God.
-
We believe in prayer.
-
We believe in the Fruits of the Spirit. God is the power for holy spiritual living (John 16:5-16 & Philippians 2:12-13). Please read about the Fruits of the Spirit and the acts of the sinful nature as Paul compares them in Galatians 5:16-26.
-
We believe in the transformation of the mind. Godly thinking and Christ-like thoughts will insulate us from the temptations of the flesh. God will cleanse the attitude, mindset, habits, and spirit of the believer.
-
We believe Christians must have a godly demeanor. Your deeds and actions represent your character—show people the God in you.
-
We believe faith is an experience. We minister to people from the miracles God has worked in our lives.
-
We have good reason to use the name Church of God. It is a biblical name. The name Church of God is used to describe the body of Christ in 1 Corinthians 1:2, 10:32, 11:22, 15:8; 2 Corinthians 1:2; Galatians 1:13; and 1 Timothy 3:5.
-
We do not consider ourselves to be a denomination-specific church with human-made prescribed creeds, rules, and an unbending organizational structure. Neither are we a sect with legalistic statements on and enforcement of lifestyles. We do not have any captivating commitment to a human personality.
-
We believe when one accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior, God places that person in the church (Acts 2:47, 1 Corinthians 12:18). If you are not a Christian (not saved, not born anew, not a disciple of Jesus Christ), you will want to confess your sins in prayer, ask God to forgive you, and invite Jesus Christ to come into your life as Savior and Lord (Matthew 11:28, John 3:1-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17).
